Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday morning suspended the mobile internet service in Srinagar, following a gunfight between militants and government forces in Nawakadal area of Srinagar city.

An operator said that telecom operators in the district have been asked to suspend the services as a ‘Precautionary measure”.
Earlier, today morning a gunfight broke out after a joint team of government forces cordoned off Nawakadal area of city in wee hours. As the joint team intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon government forces, triggering an encounter.
