Ignorance is at its peak in our valley. The so-called youth in the valley is using negative energies. In olden times there was hardly any crime. The modern generation has become too wicked and forgot all the limits. The youth instead of doing good deeds are involved in murder cases, suicides, drugs, corruption, theft, etc. Old Kashmir was an example for other nations. With the passing of time, the crime rates are on the rise crippling the brotherhood in the valley. In a heart-wrenching incident in Aishmuqam of Anantnag District, a man attacked dozens of people for no reason. Few got killed and others are for treatment in hospital. The saddest part is that the man killed his own mother. It is said that heaven lies in the feet of a mother. How could a son kill his own mother? Did he not remember the pains this lady has taken from the moment he was born? It is shocking that we are not safe in our own houses. Anything can happen in the blink of an eye. The man not only murdered the people but the children in the families have to suffer the loss. Here a question arises if this inebriated man was agitated then why the family stayed quiet for a long time? Why we don’t teach children from early childhood the right way to live? This excuse is not accepted as the man was aggressive. Who created these circumstances that the youth is out of mind? Just look at our standards and how we have fallen in the eyes of the Almighty. Nobody knows what is going on inside one’s family. Is it not the responsibility of parents to keep track of their children? We sit with our loved ones without knowing their whereabouts. Nowadays family members take each other for granted until this kind of incident happens. Society is so dumb to keep an eye on the people living next to them. If the people have paid attention to the family of the miscreant, the Ashmukam incident wouldn’t have taken place. Innocent people would have not been injured and killed. It is shame that the youth has become so ignorant and cruel that it does not even spare the parents who have brought them up after a lot of suffering. Some families in Kashmir pamper their children so much that they grow up to be offenders. It is the story of most of the families in the valley. When the father scolds the children, the mother takes sides and they get spoiled. The youth must be taught to live a disciplined and right life. In educational institutions, the first thing which should be conveyed to the children is their purpose in life. They must be taught the exact to live a life. A new generation in Kashmir has zero patience. Parents need to teach their children moral values so that they grow up to be good citizens. These incidents are not going to happen in the future only if we choose the right life. Our heart goes out to all the families who have lost their loved ones.
