Woman killed in cross border shelling in Uri

Srinagar: A woman was killed in Cross Border shelling between the armies of India and Pakistan in Uri sector along Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources told Good Morning Kashmir that, a 39-year-old woman identified as Akhter Begam was killed after massive shelling in Batgran of Uri area.

Sources added that Indian and Pakistani army exchange bullets and shells creating panic among people in both parts of Line of Control.

Pakistan shells, they said landed in Nambla, Saidpora, Silikote and adjoining villages, resulted in killing of a woman.

SDM Uri, Riyaz Ahmad when contacted by GMK  said that, the locals have migrated to safer buildings of NHPC, adding that the shelling is going on in the area.
