Providing feasible accommodation to film crews, holding poetry sessions, drama plays, seminars on all themes, advertising on all social media networks, and doing tireless digital marketing.
However, the latest trend is soliciting YouTubers and vloggers, providing them free travel and accommodation, and use their huge followership to improve your tourism prospects. The vloggers are flocking to Kashmir and relaying the hospitality they are witnessing firsthand to millions of their followers. All this is costing our resources are free lunches, discount on hotel accommodation and a few hundred smiles and nice treatment.
These magicians are better known as influencers. They can change the destiny of a drowning business within no time. These influencers actually influence the buying and selling temperament of people and for tourism promotion, they are just pure goldust.
For the last five or six years Kashmir seems to be lucky in as far as attracting these influencers to Kashmir. The establishment must ensure no one fleeces them, overcharges them, or talks to them rudely because the same would get delayed to the thousands of their followers unadulterated.
Kashmir is just waiting for another great year of tourism. Estimates say record tourism is expected this year. And how we wish those estimates hold water!
