Lord Krishna warns us about the three gates to self-destruction and misery: Lust, Anger, and Greed. These vices should be recognized and shunned on our journey towards spiritual and personal growth. As we celebrate Krishna Janmashtami, let us embrace the values exemplified by Lord Krishna – compassion, love, wisdom, and devotion – and strive to live our lives in a way that reflects the essence of his teachings. May this festival bring joy, harmony, and spiritual awakening to all those who partake in this great festival. Jai Shri Krishna!
The story of Lord Krishna’s birth is filled with wonder and divine significance. He was born to Vasudeva and Devaki in the prison of Mathura. Devaki’s brother, the wicked King Kansa, had imprisoned them due to a prophecy that Devaki’s Eighth child would be the cause of his downfall. However, divine intervention and a series of miraculous events allowed Krishna to be born safely. His father, Vasudeva, managed to carry him across the Yamuna River to the safety of Gokul, where he was raised by his foster parents, Nanda and Yashoda.
Krishna Janmashtami is not just a festival; it is a spiritual journey for devotees who seek to connect with Lord Krishna and draw inspiration from His teachings. The celebration of this joyous occasion is a testament to the enduring love and devotion that millions of people hold for Lord Krishna. It serves as a reminder of the divine presence in our lives and the importance of love, faith, and righteousness.
The teachings of Lord Krishna are of utmost relevance in the current circumstances, and humanity would benefit greatly from embracing them. In the ever-changing style of our life, it’s essential to refrain from attaching ourselves to materialistic possessions. Instead, cultivate a serene and composed mindset, focusing on the actions we undertake (karma) rather than obsessing over the outcomes they may yield. (Bhagwat Gita)
According to the teachings of Lord Krishna, a truly superior individual is one who remains impartial, extending equal respect and kindness to friends, enemies, relatives, and even strangers. Lord Krishna’s wisdom is unequivocal: ‘Embrace change, for it is the only constant, and live in the present moment with mindfulness.’
