Srinagar is undeniably known as the heart of Kashmir. Right from scenic lakes to idyllic Mughal gardens it gains the attention of people around the world. People in Srinagar are polite and hospitable towards the outsiders visiting Kashmir. With a massive population, many facilities are provided to City as compared to the rural areas so people from different districts move in to make their lives secure and complacent. Apart from natural beauty much more attention must be given to the cleanliness of the water, roads, and electricity. These basic facilities must be provided on a constant basis, especially in the winter season for e.g, the weather vagaries deeply impact the transport system of Jammu and Kashmir. To improve the quality of life and make Srinagar city pollution-free, starting the metro train service will be the best idea. This service will not only run within the city but also reach tourist destinations. This will be the door-to-door service for people who have to travel for work and other purposes. People stuck in traffic jams for hours will have a sigh of relief at the quick and easy transport system.
People would surely appreciate if metro trains are introduced in Jammu and Kashmir. They would love “Metro trains” revolving around Srinagar city. This will definitely improve the transportation system and make the valley appear beautiful and modern. Moreover, if we have a look at the drainage system in downtown areas, it really leaves a bad impression on the locals and the visitors. It has been many years now but problems related to drainage are not perfectly solved. Don’t wonder why, because the stinking smell does not go at all. People have to live with it. Some cover their mouths to keep infection at bay. The drainage system is not up to mark. It is so unfortunate that garbage pile-ups are seen in a commercial area like Lalchowk. People who pass by get irritated by its stinking smell. It seems that the concerned department is taking naps and ignoring the issues. On one hand, people wish to see Srinagar as a smart city and on the other, they throw garbage on the streets instead of reporting it to the Srinagar Municipal Corporation. The Administration must keep a cheerleader in every street to keep a watchful eye on those who try to make our streets unpleasant. This way the city can remain cleaner in the near future. The administration must take the next level to beautify it and try to convert it into a smart city as soon as possible.
