The prayer of Tahajjud is optional, or nafl. It’s a prayer offered at night to achieve mental calm and strength. Additionally, it is recognized to prevent sinful deeds. The Tahajjud prayer, also referred to as the “night prayer” is not required. Even though it is not required, many devout Muslims make an effort to perform Tahajjud every day as a way to worship Allah and obtain his pardon and salvation. When one prays this, they entirely give themselves over to Allah and let go of all earthly concerns. When a believer gives everything to the Almighty, the All-Powerful then helps via many means. The fact that the door of repentance is currently ajar is crucial.
Importance Of Tahajjud Prayer: A Muslim who prays this wonderful prayer experiences tranquility and brightness in their life, as well as a stronger relationship with Allah. Tahajjud, however, has many blessings and a huge significance. Regarded as the most virtue-filled of the Nafl prayers, the Qiyam-u-lail is regarded as a component of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Sunnah. Regular Tahajjud prayer performers will undoubtedly receive Allah's blessings. It is also believed that a Muslim who prays this way becomes closer to God and experiences tranquility and brightness in their life. The significance of the Tahajjud prayer is emphasized throughout the holy Quran.
When To Pray Tahajjud?: The nighttime prayer is the Tahujjud prayer. Usually offered after Isha, the required nocturnal prayer, and before Fajr, the required morning prayer, is Tahajjud. It is best served in the final part of the night, right before Fajr. However, it can also be provided at any moment after Isha, during the entire night. It is quite fortunate to be blessed in the latter part of the night. In the the latter part of the night, Allah SWT descends to the lowest sky in order to respond to every worshipper who is a believer.
How to Perform Tahajjud Prayer: Tahajjud prayer is offered in the same manner as the Two Rak’ah obligatory/voluntary prayer. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated that two raka’at are the minimum amount of prayer. You can complete two, four, six, eight, or twelve rak’ahs of Tahajjud prayers, depending on your capacity. There is no restriction on the quantity of rak’ahs, but there should be at least two, and one salutation (salam) for every two rak’ahs.
How Tahajjud Namaz Transformed My Life: Since the start, I have regularly performed Tahajjud Namaz because I see it as an incredible trip that deepens my relationship with Allah. I feel that praying this brings me closer to Allah, and I offer up many requests, knowing that Allah will hear and grant them all. After getting accepted into the University of Kashmir's Department of Social Work and gaining a place in one of the best dorms, I found it difficult to manage my time because of the busy and unfamiliar hostel atmosphere. I was sorry that I was unable to attend Tahajjud Namaz.
In a dream, I saw my professor, Dr. Javaid Rashid, and he was disappointed. "What's bothering you, Rameez?" he said. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was furious with you and your job, he said. I felt uneasy in this dream, knowing that I was ignoring a big chunk of my life. I went to the Islamic scholar Qazi Imran Sahib for advice. He gave me comfort, urged me to keep doing Tahajjud Namaz, and assured me of future miracles. I practiced some more after taking his advice since I felt more content and grounded.
Since it has been so transformative, I hope that by sharing this story, others may be inspired to give spiritual pursuits priority. offering a profound connection with Allah and a source of inner peace and strength. Though not obligatory, its practice is encouraged as it aligns with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and brings blessings into one’s life. Through dedication to this prayer, individuals may experience personal transformation and guidance, finding solace and fulfillment in their spiritual journey.
