Militant killed in gunfight in Pampore

Srinagar: One unindentified militant has been killed in an ongoing operation by security forces in Meej area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday

Official sources told GMK that, One militant has been killed so far, while as the identity of a slain militants was being ascertained.

Earlier reports said that on a tip off about the presence of militants, a joint team of Army’s 50RR (Rashtriya Rifles), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in Meej area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

Meanwhile authorities have suspended internet services in area as a precautionary measure in wake of this encounter.
