Indore City has snatched the top rank in being the cleanest city in India. It is visible to the world that the general public and municipalities in Indore are performing their duty honestly. From children to elderly persons, everyone is cooperative when it comes to keeping the city clean. The beauty of people is that they know what to do with their assets. As far as our valley is concerned, its natural scenic beauty and fresh air does not need much hard work like other places. It is unfortunate that we have failed to keep our valley clean. People brag about Kashmir being the most beautiful UTs of the world. In reality, we are reversing in terms of cleanliness. Just look at our streets and public parks. When we have a look at Srinagar city, it is stinking due to heaps of garbage. Why do we always blame the authorities and municipalities? A sweeper comes to clean the streets early in the morning. Those are only hours when the areas look tidy. As soon as people come to know that roads have been cleaned, they deliberately throw waste from the windows of their houses. Leftover rice and other eatables are thrown in the middle of the streets. How disgusting it is to see people walk on it. These mischiefs are done by the women folk who are supposed to correct society. Even students eat junk food and throw the wrappers on the roads. It is hilarious to see parents appreciating their children for making the city dirty. Families go for outings, have a good time in parks and tourist places, and have their eatables during the day. In the evening they don’t even care to clean the place they used for their comfort. Health problems are increasing because we are not concerned about the cleanliness of our respective areas. Indore is creating a good impression around the globe. It is winning the hearts of people. Likewise, we also need to realize that our homeland is our identity. We must not only think about it but also implement it in our lives.
