Jammu: In a full Court resolution dated 16th May 2020, the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir had decided to contribute Rs. 50 Lac to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES FUND) raised for combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
It is worthwhile to mention that earlier in a full Court meeting held on 23th of March, the High Court had decided to creat a dedicated fund to combat the Coronavirus and provide relief to Covid -19 victims. It was resolved in the meeting that Chief Justice and all Judges of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir shall make a contribution of Rs. 25000 each, while all the district Judges, Sub Judges and Munsiffs of UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladhak shall make the contribution of Rs.15000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs 7500 each respectively. All the gazetted officers of the High Court staff and subordinate Court staff may make the contribution of Rs. 5000 each, whereas all the non -gazetted staff of the High Court and subordinate Courts may contribute one day’s salary each.
As per the full court resolution, a cheque of Rs. 50 Lac in favour of the PM Cares along with a letter has been formally sent by the Registrar General of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court to the Under Secretary (Funds) PMO, South Block, New Delhi and another Cheque of Rs. 20 Lac in favour of the JK Relief Fund along with a letter has been handed over to the Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble LG UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
A total of Rs.70 Lac has been contributed by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir to the funds which will be used in the efforts of combating, containing and relief against the Coronavirus outbreak.
