FDA seizes illegal Sawmills in Anantnag

Anantnag: Anantnag Forest Department has seized 39 illegal band sawmills in various villages in South Kashmir’ s Anantnag District.

According to sources the department has came into motion after the district magistrate Anantnag has passed directions to seize illegal sawmills in District who came in inside radious of 8 km’s of forest area and were running illegally without any registration in District.

Sources said that the department has seized 39 illegal sawmills who have not registered yet and was running illegally in various villages in Anantnag District.

DFO Anantnag Farooze Ahmad chaket while talking to GMK said that the the campaign will continue till all the illegal sawmills are not seized in District, he said that we have received various complaints against these illegal band sawmills in various areas in Anantnag District and have also followed the directions of district magistrate Anantnag to seize these illegal band sawmills who were running illegally and came in 8 km’s radious on forest area. He said that the illegal band sawmills if found anywhere in District will meet the same fate. He added.
