The residents of Khajipora, Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district urged the district administration to start macadamisation of link road in the area.
The aggrieved residents said that the road reflects a look of a ‘riverbank’ during rains.
“To reach Tangmarg from my village would hardly take 10 minutes but now it takes more than that to reach the destination,” said locals.
In the past, the villagers had approached the civil administration demanding macadamization of the road but despite assurances, no work was done, alleged locals.

“This was the road built decades ago, and since then it is a victim of official neglect,” said Zulkarnain, a local resident.
The residents alleged that other villages of this area are well covered with tar coal but their village has been left without macadamization.
“We want to know what has stopped the administration from upgrading the road for years. The government makes tall claims of progress but there is nothing on the ground in our village. We urge the administration to repair and macadamize the road on priority,” locals said.
