Nowadays, youngsters in the valley seem to be totally distracted and unfocused in life. Their body language and face expressions clearly give visible signs of low interest in daily tasks. Nowadays the youth is much more involved in alcoholism and drug addiction. Fruitful hobbies and studies are neglected by youngsters from time to time. Less attention is paid to career building and time is being wasted on useless things. Though the current administration has directed youth towards sports, art, and culture but that is not enough. The bad political situation and unemployment in the past has impacted the mental health of youth. Some have tried to cope with it whereas others are still in trauma. Many youngsters are not in a position to come on track and live a life of honor. The circumstances have dragged them to choose a destructive path which can be quite dangerous. Many countries in the world are providing proper counseling to their youth to keep them away from social evils but as far as our valley is concerned counseling has been never provided to youngsters which has resulted in extreme depression. Lack of counseling for youngsters has increased the number of crimes for decades. It is counseling that helps a person to come out of negative situations and build a positive attitude towards life. It makes us strong and mindful so that we can easily face future challenges in life. In fact, it tells us about how beautiful life is and how we can protect it. Schools, colleges, and universities in the valley have no counselors at all. The teenagers in schools deal with a lot of problems that they can’t share it with anyone other than a counselor. Moreover, youngsters hope that someone is there to listen to them and guide them towards good. It is only proper counseling that can show the correct path to the children who will further grow into responsible citizens. When there are no counselors the children can’t speak about what is cooking in their minds. A counselor guides the youngsters to pick the correct path and teaches them to handle the problems in life. These are trained people who help the youth to become strong and kind. When counselors are not available in educational institutions the students fear venting their frustrations on family and friends. In this flow, they get involved in social crimes. We appeal to the LG administration and the concerned department to keep counselors in institutions so that the youngsters are trained to overcome future challenges.
