A resident of Sangrama, Sopore and son of Javid Ahmad Sheikh, Enaam has become the talk of the fest with his powerful and thought-provoking photo essay titled “Me and What I See.” His entry, curated entirely in black and white, stood out not just for its technical precision but for the raw honesty and emotional depth it carried.

The essay explored life through his own eyes — candid, unfiltered, and deeply human. From silent streets to fleeting expressions, every image told a story. In a world obsessed with colour and perfection, Enaam’s monochrome vision reminded the audience that beauty often lies in simplicity and truth.

“This essay is personal,” Enaam shared. “It’s a reflection of my world — what I feel, what I notice, and what I carry within. I didn’t want to impress. I just wanted to express.”

The judges, which included noted media professionals and academics, praised his work for its originality, clarity of thought, and visual storytelling. One judge remarked, “This was more than a submission — it was a narrative. A mirror of the soul in black and white.”

Media Fest 2025 witnessed intense competition from talented students across the Valley, but Enaam’s essay rose above for its sincerity and impact. Faculty members, fellow students, and the wider GDC Baramulla community have applauded his achievement, calling it an inspiration for emerging creators.

As a young voice from North Kashmir making waves through visual expression, Sheikh Enaam Javid is quickly carving his space in the world of storytelling. With this big win, he steps forward not just as a student, but as an artist of vision and conviction.
