Why do people commit suicide?

This is a fundamental question that we all face at some point in our lives. One of our loved ones, acquaintances or friends inevitably commits suicide. Some of them survive while mostly they die. Every person who commits suicide leaves a paramount question, “Why he/she did so?” Was he so tired and frustrated with life or was he in such a state that he embraced death, dozens of such questions.
Many people who have access to all aspects of life and commodities of world also do commit suicide, which means that life’s hardships and sufferings are not as close to suicide as they would normally be. It is speculated that most of the suicides were due to some kind of distress or some other serious disturbance which led to him/her attempt to suicide.

While there are many factors that can influence a person’s decision to commit suicide, the most common one is severe depression. Depression can make people feel great emotional pain and loss of hope, making them unable to see and believe in any another way to relieve their pain other than ending their own life.

The main cause behind suicide is this pandemic which worsened people’s financial conditions, because a man who was working hard during the day and earns some money for his family’s expenses, but during this pandemic no one is going out for work nowadays and their families are suffering because of it.

𝗜𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺, 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗿’𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵.
On the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣, 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙡, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙃𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙝” (𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙠𝙤𝙤𝙩:𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙚 1,𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙚 1) Referring to the different types of suicide,
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝘁 (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱:“𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚”.
Sahib al-Marq at al-Muftah writes that if he committed this act If he commits suicide by considering it lawful, then it is a punishment to live in hell forever, or khulud means long term. Therefore, if he did not do it knowing that it is permissible, then hopefully Allah will forgive him. He will do so and then admit him to Paradise as a punishment.
