The world is witnessing increasing violence. There are civil wars going on. All is not well in Afghanistan. Syria continues to struggle for peace. In USA the black population is finding it increasingly hard to cope up with the racist violence. The democratic societies across the world are trying to show their supremacy by scuttling rights of ethnic,religious or social minorities. The autocratic states like China are caging millions of muslims and treating them in the most inhumane way possible. While the role of media is to highlight the wrongs being committed on the minorities. However, most of the times the media conveniently looks the other way when it comes to writing about atrocities. Sometimes the media is silenced through various draconian ways.

When it comes to Asia we have seen numerous conflicts. North Korea continues to harass its public using stringent patriotic laws. World is acting as a mute spectator when Yemen is being bombarded or thousands killed in Syria. In Myanmar minorities are being butchered like anything. The economic interests are coming in the way of a just world. Stronger economies across the world get away with worst human rights records just because they are stronger economies. The role of the UN is to be proactive in such matters. The UN acts like a dormant entity incapable of righting the wrong. Democracies across the world must work to build UN stronger and more effective. Let all live happily and with liberty.
