It is perhaps the greatest event of the last ten years. Modi is in Kashmir valley for the first time ever since the abrogation of Article 370 and just at the cusp of seeking a third term as India’s Prime Minister. PM Modi’s developmental non-political agenda has been approved by the voters in India and if everything goes by the trend PM Modi is done to win a third term as Prime Minister of the country with an unassailable majority.

The highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of the Viksit Bharat Jammu Kashmir program at Bakshi Stadium. At the heart of the initiatives is the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) – a Rs 5,000 crore project aimed at revitalizing the agri-economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The program spanning horticulture, agriculture, and livestock husbandry is set to benefit approximately 2.5 lakh farmers, offering skill development through the dedicated Daksh Kisan portal and establishing 2.000 Kisa Khidmat Ghars (helpers).

Modi will also dedicate over Rs 1,400 crore worth of projects under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes, focusing on enhancing tourism infrastructure. Among these projects is the ‘Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine’ in Srinagar, which aims to provide a world-class experience for pilgrims and tourists through improved facilities and amenities.

There is a wave of joy among the public in Jammu and Kashmir. Ever since the rail connectivity from Sangaldan in Ramban to Baramulla in north Kashmir was thrown open, people are expecting that sooner Kashmir will be connected to Jammu via a rail link. Of late the air fares to Kashmir have shot through the roof and a rail link to Kashmir is a must need. Modi aims to win the hearts of people in Kashmir by announcing a project of the maintenance and renovation of the holiest Hazratbal shrine.

It is estimated that around two lakh people would witness the speech of Modi at the iconic Bakhshi stadium in Srinagar. Modi is a great crowd-puller, a great speaker, and a great communicator. It is from this stadium that Modi aims to raise the pitch for the campaign of the national elections.

On behalf of the whole community of Kashmir we want to extend our welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. May this visit herald an era of peace, prosperity, and development.
