Renowned physician, Dr Haji Atiqullah, passed away here on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.
Dr Atiqullah was widely respected across the region for his medical service and was the father of eminent Kashmiri Medical Oncologist, Dr Shad Salim Akhtar.
As per family members, his last rites will be conducted at his ancestral graveyard. The funeral prayers (Nimaz-e-Jinazah) will be offered at Shah Anwar Colony, Hyderpora, Srinagar, before Asr prayers. A second funeral prayer will be held at Sopore Eidgah after Magrib prayers later today.
A condolence gathering will be held at Shah Anwar Colony, Hyderpora, Srinagar. Fateh Khawani (prayers for the departed soul) is scheduled to be held in Sopore on Saturday.
The medical fraternity and local communities have begun expressing their grief, recalling Dr Atiqullah’s dedication and service to healthcare in the region.
