Srinagar : A Border Security Force [BSF] trooper as well as a militant was killed after a infiltration bid was foiled in Machil sector of North Kashmir’s frontier district.
Preliminary reports suggest that militants’ attempt to cross the LoC was aborted in Kupwara’s Machil Sector, more than 100 km north of Srinagar.
Army sources said one militant was killed so far. Adding that a BSF trooper identified as Constable Sarkar was also killed during the cross fire. The army are also looking for weapons of the killed militant.

The Srinagar-based army spokesman has not put out any official confirmation on the bid and the number of militants killed.
