Unscheduled power cuts and low voltage in and around the north Kashmir villages have evoked strong resentment from the locals.
The residents of Palhalan, Sari-Warpora, Nihalpora, Darweshbagh, and others connected with the Power receiving station Pattan alleged that unscheduled and continue power cuts increased their problems and the Power Development Department (PDD) is not taking any effective steps to improve the electricity supply as a result of which there is outrage among the people towards the department.
They said it gets dark in these areas as soon as the evening falls while at sometimes the power goes out as it comes.
The people said that unscheduled power cuts in this harsh cold of chillai-kalan not only irks the general public, but the students who are preparing for upcoming board exams are also facing inconvenience, how can they prepare themselves when the electricity is playing hide & seek game in the area”, said Mushtaq Ahmad, a local resident.
The people urge LG Administration and concerned department to take immediate steps to improve the power in the area, so that they could not suffer more.
