Two militants have been killed in a brief shootout with government forces in Kwarigam, Ranipora area of South Kashmir Anantnag district on Saturday.
Reports reaching said that a joint of army’s RR and SOG launched a cordon and search operation in Kwarigam area of the district.

A senior Police officer told Good Morning Kashmir that the cordon was launched following credible input about the presence of some militants in the area. The officer said that soon after the joint team of forces arrived in the area, the militant opened indiscriminate fire which was retaliated leading to a brief shootout.
During the gunfight two militants have been killed and there identities and affiliation is being ascertained, the officer said. The officer said that search operation in the area is still going on.
