Two individuals sustained injuries after being attacked by a bear in the Dooru area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.
An official said that a bear appeared in the village of Chairkadi Dooru near the forest and attacked and injured two persons.” The injured have been identified as Ab Rashid, son of Mohd Yousuf Hajam, a resident of Kapran currently residing in Dooru, and Bashir Ahmad Wagay, son of Gh Hassan Wagay, a resident of Agnoo,” official said.Both victims were later transported to Model Hospital Dooru, from where Ab Rashid Hajam has been referred to Srinagar for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the wildlife department has been alerted about the presence of the bear in the area, and they have reached the spot to address the situation. (KS)
