Inhabitants of Budshah Flats in particular and residents of Sarai Bala, Maharaji Bazar, and Jehangir Chowk, in general, have been living in mess due to unruly parking menace, street vendors are in dire straits.
The normal life ceases to exist while authorities choose not to react to these grave grievances.
Kirmani Aafaq, a resident of Budshah Flat lamented that unruly and mad parking has made life miserable of the colony, “We are unable to move out with our vehicle because the two approach roads towards Budshah Flats are blocked by the shopkeepers and their customers. This is an open vandalism because top-rung police and traffic officials are omni-present in and around these localities.”
Street vendors also start their business on the middle of the roads and wherever they find some inches of space hence denying pedestrians to walk or move freely.
Despite this menace is going on SMC has stationed a vehicle outside Budshah Flats which turn on its sirens twice a day at 11 am and 3pm cautioning violaters gently and rest of the day they are seen yawning and sleeping in the vehicle. This ritual is going on since Mayor Srinagar took over.
