It is very heartening to see groups of youth in Kashmir on the march with the tri-color in their hands. Schoolchildren, college goers, and office goers all are enthusiastic about these patriotic rallies. Recently we saw patriotic fever gripping the district of Kupwara where thousands of young men and women were on the march with the tricolour flag in their hands. The same feat has been observed in other districts of the valley which have observed massive rallies. Social media handlers showed a group of teachers accompanying a big procession of school children and preparing them for the August 15 celebrations. The teachers said that they have been at it from the last fifteen days and are trying their level best to instill patriotic spirit in the youth of the valley.
The districts of central and south Kashmir are also gripped by the patriotic fever and every school, college, and private institutions are holding massive rallies. In schools, the whole energy is dedicated to teaching students the patriotic spirit and preparing them for the Independence Day celebrations. As we write this there are massive Tiranga rallies being conducted in Srinagar as well.
The role of the current Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been instrumental in organizing these rallies. It is very important to start at a very young age. Imbibing the concept of patriotism will go a long way in making them strong and responsible individuals. The schools and colleges must organize bike rallies to Drass and make students visit the Kargil War Memorial. This will help young students understand how much effort it took to defend this country from the enemy intruders – and how bravely our brave hearts fought to fend them off. Kargil War is indeed one of the most iconic moments of independent India. It showcased India’s military might to the world.
We must also thank the school and college principals for laying out an assiduous strategy for carrying out these Tiranga rallies. Our national flag is a symbol of our resilience and commitment to the country. Our regards to the jawans who laid down their lives to protect our country.
