In a strong and united stand against terrorism, hundreds gathered in Pulwama to protest the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which left innocent lives shattered and deeply wounded the conscience of the Valley.
The protest was jointly organized by youth activists, civil society members, the Traders Federation Pulwama, Bar Association Pulwama, Transport Union, Fruit Growers Association, and local Awqaaf Committees, with prominent youth activist and national awardee Mudasir Dar among the key organisers of the demonstration.
The protest served as a unified expression of grief, anger, and resistance against the forces of terror that continue to threaten Kashmir’s peace and progress. In a powerful joint statement, the organizers collectively held Pakistan responsible for sponsoring terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and called on the international community to stop treating it with strategic leniency.
Mudasir Dar, speaking on behalf of the youth and civil society, stated, “The Pahalgam attack is not just a terror incident—it is a strategic assault by Pakistan’s deep state, which has long used terrorism as state policy. But this time, it won’t go unanswered. The youth of Pulwama have awakened. This protest is our declaration that enough is enough. We are the generation that chooses dignity over deceit, books over bullets, and peace over propaganda.”
Leaders from the Traders Federation and Transport Union condemned the way such attacks threaten economic life and social harmony. The Bar Association Pulwama called for fast-track trials and stronger legal action against any local elements linked to terror networks. The Fruit Growers Association highlighted the need to safeguard the region’s economic backbone, while Awqaaf Committees pledged to use religious platforms to counter extremist narratives and promote unity.
Bhat Musadiq Riyaz another protester, emotionally said, “Hum ne bahut khamoshi bardasht ki. Har dafa Pakistan ek naya zakham deta hai, aur duniya uski mazloomiyat ka drama dekh kar khamosh rehti hai. Aaj hum keh rahe hain – bas ho gaya. Hum apni zameen ko fir kisi ke proxy war ka maidan nahi banne denge.”
Special prayers were offered for the victims of the attack, and the people of Pulwama observed a moment of silence in their memory.
This united protest marks a significant shift in ground sentiment—showcasing that Pulwama, once targeted by propaganda and violence, is now emerging as a voice of reason, resistance to radicalism, and resilience in the face of cross-border terror.
