In a significant move to dismantle the terror ecosystem, Anantnag Police have attached the immovable property of an active terrorist, Adil Hussain Thoker, under the stringent provisions of the law. The attached property is a parcel of land identified under Khasra No. 165 MIN, located in the Guree area of Bijbehara. The action was carried out under Section 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), which allows for the attachment of properties of proclaimed offenders and those absconding. The owner of the land, Adil Hussain Thoker, son of Wali Mohammed Thoker and a resident of Guree, Bijbehara, is currently an active terrorist. The attachment is directly linked to First Information Report (FIR) No. 11/2023, which was registered against him under Sections 20 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Sections 2/3 of the EIMCO Act. These charges relate to being a member of a terrorist organization, supporting terrorism, and possessing explosives or arms with intent to aid a terrorist act. A police spokesperson stated that this action is a critical part of the lawful measures being undertaken to target and dismantle the financial and logistical support structures that sustain terrorism in the district. "The attachment is part of lawful measures aimed at dismantling the support structure of terrorism in the district," the spokesperson said. "Such actions will continue against individuals found aiding or involved in unlawful and anti-national activities." The Anantnag Police reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to upholding peace, security, and the rule of law, sending a clear message that those involved in anti-national activities will face severe consequences, including the seizure of their assets.
