Stunt bikers attack sparks off debate

Kashmir is known as “Reshi Waer” (Abode of Rishis) the valley of saints. It is unfortunate that unexpected crimes are sprouting on this sacred land. Not only drug addiction and corruption but the youngsters are getting involved in heinous crimes such as harassment and eve teasing. We often talk about women’s safety and empowerment but in reality, they are not even spared during broad daylight. Recently a shocking video went viral on social media in which a group of bike riders attacked a car. The alleged incident happened when the family was returning home. The woman with her toddler was shouting for help but the insane riders had no mercy on them. The video shows 8-9 men performing bike stunts on road posing threat to commuters. The riders were trying to overtake the other vehicles in rush bothering people on the way. When a lady tried taking video to expose their actions, the riders stopped the car and started beating the family. The woman was horrified to the extent that she had no option other than screaming and saving her baby. Somehow the family tried to escape from danger. Moreover, the complainant narrated the whole incident and reached out to authorities. It is shame that youngsters are heading towards such crimes. Women have been given high status in every religion still they are victims of domestic violence and harassment. We must come together not to only protect women but every human life. Hence CCTV cameras must be set in every nook and corner in order to take action against people who try to violate laws and harm others. The current administration has made many efforts to eradicate corruption and drug addiction to date. Unfortunately, other social crimes have taken place in the valley. Youngsters caught in criminal acts have been sent to rehabilitation centers to improve themselves. We can’t blame the Government for everything. People need to go deep into self-observation. They must stay away from social evils and try to spread positive things in society. Whosoever is involved in bad things must adapt in good ways. Moral lessons must be given in educational institutions to emphasize on good character Parents should work hard on the efficient upbringing of the child so that he or she doesn’t commit sins in later life. Love and sympathy should be taught to teenagers. This will make every citizen responsible for the near future and these kinds of incidents will stop in the near future.
