In a determined effort to enhance road safety and enforce compliance with traffic laws, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of Baramulla, Muazzam Ali, initiated a rigorous crackdown on traffic violators across district Baramulla.
The transport department conducted an extensive inspection drive across the region, blacklisting dozens of vehicles and penalizing multiple offenders.
The operation revealed widespread violations, including 13 cases of riders not wearing helmets, 11 instances of drivers neglecting seat belts, and one driver caught using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle. Additionally, five vehicles were found parked improperly. In total, challans amounting to Rs 26,500 were issued for offenses such as unauthorized parking and failure to comply with safety regulations.
Speaking about the initiative, ARTO Muazzam Ali highlighted the department’s commitment to ensuring road safety. “The safety of motorists and pedestrians is a top priority. We will continue intensifying efforts to enforce traffic laws and prevent accidents,” he stated.
The crackdown is part of a broader effort to promote responsible driving and raise awareness about traffic rules in the region. Authorities have urged the public to strictly adhere to traffic laws for their safety and the well-being of others.
