Begging has become a profession in many parts of the world. Beggers know that the easiest trick of earning money without striving is to beg. Millions of children are roaming on streets and asking for food and money. When a person refuses to give, children stick like glue. These children have been trained into begging so that the rest of the family can enjoy the benefits. The saddest part is that the beggars pretend to be handicapped to gain the sympathy of people. In Jammu and Kashmir, begging has been banned a few years ago. Still, it continues to take place at every place in Kashmir. While waiting for buses in Parimpora Srinagar, lady beggars with their toddlers ask for money which irritates the passengers. The trick beggars play is that they try to conquer a person emotionally. They wear torn clothes and beg in tune so that the person becomes ready to give money to them. There are many people who earn by working hard during the day with all sweat and tears and they just get annoyed by giving money to begging professionals who enjoy money without working. In our everyday lives also we often see beggars knocking on the doors for food. ‘Young healthy men beg are into begging”. These men are supposed to search for work to earn a livelihood but they are wandering from house to house begging. It is shameful to see youngsters begging in shrines and in religious institutions. These beggars are not only outsiders but it has also become a habit for the people in the valley. Every religion teaches us to help the needy. If someone is poor, it can be understood by the people but if one makes it a profession it is going to land them in trouble. It is unfortunate that small innocent children are exploited for personal gains. Despite, providing education, their families are pushing them into begging which is really heartbreaking. It is the age where children are supposed to play with toys and receive education but unfortunately, we have to see these bad days.No child wants to beg but go to school like the other children. It is the fault of parents who indulge their children in begging. They must be too strong to sacrifice and feed their children. Parents must guide their children to be self. We must not promote begging. People must report immediately as soon as they see small children begging on the streets. The administration must close their shops. Rehabilitation centers must be set up everywhere to correct their actions. The people who beg must also be taught to earn their livelihood by laboring. This is definitely going to bring positive change in their attitude. Begging is wrong and everyone must stand against it.
