Srinagar: A soldier was injured as Indian and Pakistani army exchanged fire in two sectors along Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.

“The Pakistan Army initiated ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along LoC in Machil sector, in which an army soldier was injured,” official sources said, adding that he was hospitalised immediately.

Heavy exchange of fire was going on in the area, the sources said.
