Smartphone Addiction

Humans are, by nature, prone to distraction. With smartphones, we literally have a world of distractions at our fingertips. Nowadays we cannot imagine our life without smartphones. In present times, cell phones have become a priority for people around the world. It is a useful gadget as long as it is not excessively used and misused. It is hilarious that some people don’t have enough food to eat but they definitely have a mobile phone in their hands. Nowadays, teenagers in our valley are addicted to cell phones at a fast pace. Parents are constantly complaining that their children are no longer interested in their studies. Crazy love for mobile phones is affecting their mental health and academic performance. We often see parents rushing to the eye specialist for regular checkups of their children due to the excessive use of mobile phones. Social media addiction in teenagers is ruining their life. Facebook, Instagram, and youtube is leading to cyberbullying among teenagers. Kids are going through mental stress and don’t sleep at night. They don’t leave this gadget for even a second and take smartphones to school. Cell phones are distracting teenagers from playing sports. They are dumping their hobbies which is ruining their personality. Distancing themselves from their family interactions is due to smartphones. When parents scold them to drop their cell phones, they get mad at them. Moreover, mothers have become sick of their children using these gadgets. On one hand, teenagers have to attend online classes and on the other, they play nonstop games 24/7. Constant use of Facebook, Instagram, and youtube is leading to cyberbullying among teenagers. It has not only affected their overall health but also creates tense situations at home. Many teenagers are involved in crimes because of this gadget. Parents must guide their children about the harm caused by this gadget. The administration must ban children from using of cell phones in schools.
