Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised the outstanding performance of women students at the 6th Convocation of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST)-Kashmir, where they outshined their peers by securing the majority of awards.
In a proud moment for gender inclusivity in agriculture and technology, women bagged 115 out of 150 gold medals and 334 out of 445 Certificates of Merit. Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha said, “It is heartening to see our daughters breaking barriers and achieving success in Agri-Science & Technology. This reflects a bright future for J&K and the nation.”

He commended SKUAST-Kashmir for its role in developing a skilled workforce, contributing to the growth of the agricultural sector in the Union Territory, and improving its national rankings. “The university has created competent and competitive human resources, shaping the farm sector in J&K,” he added while congratulating the graduates and wishing them success.
The convocation highlighted the increasing participation and excellence of women in STEM fields, reinforcing the region’s commitment to empowering women in science and innovation.
