The inhabitants of Archanderhama area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have complained that the roadside near graveyard has been turned into a garbage dumping spot with locals disposing off waste there for the last many years.
Locals told Good Morning Kashmir that the place is piled with household waste, polythene, plastic bags, rotten fruits, and other waste.
“The garbage on the road emanates a foul smell and poses a threat of stray dogs,” said Ab Majeed, a local resident.
“Many villagers and adjacent villagers are throwing garbage at the spot’, onwards now we will keep an eye on those who are throwing garbage here and strict action will be taken against them legally”, said Gh Mohiuddin, another local resident.
The residents appealed to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to personally visit the area and requested EO Muncipility Pattan to arrange some dustbins here in the area.
