Shopain gunfight: One Militant killed, internet suspended; Operation Underway

Srinagar: One unindentified militant has been killed in an ongoing operation by security forces in Bandpawa village of Imam Sahib in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thrusday.

Official Sources said that, One militant has been killed so far, while as the identity of a slain militants was being ascertained.

Earlier reports said that on a tip off about the presence of militants, a joint team of Army’s 44RR (Rashtriya Rifles), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in Bandpawa village of Imam Sahib in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thrusday.

Meanwhile authorities have  suspended internet services in area as a precautionary measure in wake of this encounter.
