This week was a phenomenal week for the tourism industry in Kashmir as the traditional Shikara was brought as a modest of transport on the world-famous cab-hailing app Uber. The tourism industry in Kashmir has been witnessing many ‘firsts’ this year and the number of tourists from foreign countries has been on a constant rise. As more and more millions of tourists get added this massive footfall of tourists is playing a critical role in the upliftment of the ailing Kashmir economy.
Now as we all are aware that the train will start chugging on the Delhi Srinagar route and this overnight train journey to Kashmir is going to massively increase the tourism footfall, especially from the middle-class segment of public from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. The middle class in these states now do not have to shell out too much money to travel to Kashmir and the travel time has also been substantially decreased. Even the economically well-off section would prefer this comfortable train ride from Delhi and spend the remaining allotted money on the trip to shopping and other extracurricular activities.
The current Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has played a tireless pivotal role in uplifting tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. The brand Kashmir is now a prominent feature on all social media handles. The sports events of international statute has further improved the image of Kashmir and the year 2025 we can expect another tourism boom.
Now the tourists can book an uber in advance and do not have to wait in queue during the rush hour.
