Thane police on Sunday claimed to have busted a sex racket with arrest of seven people who allegedly wooed the customers into a honeytrap and robbed them.
The accused persons wooed the customers through the social media apps and once trapped, they were threatened and looted, police said.
The accused looted the victims when they met the prospective customers at some lodge or rest house.
An offence under sections 342, 347, 384, 389, 394, 395, 201, 120B of Indian Penal Code has been registered with the Shree Nagar police station.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Sharif Gulam Nabhi alias Sonu (26), Jaspal Balvinder Chopda (31), Sunny Krishna Paret (26), Ganesh Vitthal Ambrekar (31) and also three women whose names were not revealed.
Police have also seized cash of Rs 50,000 and vehicles collectively worth Rs 1.20 lakhs from the accused, sources added.
