One of the Taliban commanders in Kabul, Hamdullah Mukhlis, was killed in a terror strike at a military hospital in Afghanistan, a source told Sputnik on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, around 25 people were killed and 50 injured after a ‘fidayeen’ attack by the Islamic State terror group at the nation’s largest military hospital, Sardar Mohammad Daoud Khan National Military Hospital.
“Hamdullah (Mukhlis), the commander of the Kabul corps, was killed in… the IS attack,” the source said.

The Taliban, however, has denied the death of Mukhlis, the head of the Kabul military corps and one of the key figures in the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in August.
The IS, who have also been vying for control of the country and operating for years from Nangarhar region bordering Pakistan, has increased attacks across the country following the Taliban takeover in mid-August.
The international terror group claimed an attack on Kabul airport on August 26, which killed more than 100, including 13 US military personnel.
In September, the Taliban announced an operation to take on the IS-Khorasan.
