Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Thursday directed the Jammu and Kashmir administration to seize all assets belonging to separatist amalgam Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and Muslim League Jammu Kashmir.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 42 of the UAPA, the central government hereby directs that all powers exercisable by it under section 7 and section 8 of the said Act shall be exercised also by the state governments and the UT administration in relation to the above said unlawful association,” the MHA notification said.
Both organisations were recently banned by the Union Home Ministry under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
