Security beefed up in Kashmir ahead of Aug 15 celebrations

Srinagar: Security has been beefed up in Kashmir ahead of August 15 celebrations, officials said.

“Security forces have been put on high alert in Kashmir valley, where Independence Day is being celebrated on Saturday,” said a police official.

The official further said that, checkpoints have been established at various places and vehicles are being checked while passengers are being frisked before allowing them to move ahead.
