Officials stated that vigilant Army troops spotted possible drone activity in Nandpur, close to the IB in Samba, and in the Tarkundi-Saaj area, situated near the LoC within Rajouri’s Nowshera sector.

Backed by local police and other security agencies, the Army intensified surveillance across both locations and commenced cordon-and-search efforts at daybreak. The objective of the operation is to verify whether any weapons, narcotics, or other prohibited items were airdropped by the suspected unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to officials, the searches were still underway when this report was filed, with no recoveries or detentions confirmed so far.

This latest development comes amid a noticeable surge in suspected drone sightings along Jammu and Kashmir’s border areas over the last seven days.
