Among 17 railway stations from Baramulla to Banihal, only the railway station Pattan is without public transport facility for decades.
Commuters’ particularly students, and office-going workers, have to walk by foot more than one kilometer of distance from the main market to reach the station.
“Several times, I could not able to reach college on time as i missed the train in the morning time,”, said Zaid Ali, a student of GDC Baramulla.
“A large number of commuters can be seen walking towards the railway station on daily basis, but no transport facility is available up to the station”, said Sajad Peer, a local resident, adding that, during rainfall, it becomes hectic for locals to walk through muddy road to reach the railway station.
It’s pertinent to mention here that Daily Good Morning Kashmir has carried this grievance for 2nd time today, but the concerned authorities are yet to act.
Meanwhile, locals of the area urged ARTO Baramulla to facilitate minibus or cab service from Pandow park to Railway station Pattan during morning and evening time.
