There are many reasons why people keep using social media even when it’s bad for them, and these reasons vary across individuals and across circumstances. Everyone knows social media is a dangerous web. Those trolled fall in it like flies to the spider web. There is no running away from it. Social media is growing dangerously and is completely unfettered. It has become a kind of a boxing ring where you put down the choicest people with slander and abuse. The administration must watch for the abusers, the name callers, and the professional trolls and take punitive action against them. One study found that people keep using social media despite the fact that it makes them feel bad, because they keep expecting it to make them feel better. When it comes to certain specific dangers of social media, other factors can increase people’s vulnerability. For example, when it comes to cyberbullying of children, factors such as psychological difficulties, lack of parental support, and peer norms can make children more vulnerable.

What dangers of social media do you think of first that teens tend to face? Sexting, predators, cyberbullying. All are damaging, more common than you think, and should be discussed. However, we can’t ignore or minimize the more subtle, everyday dangerous things kids are doing online. Recently a boy from north Kashmir found it in a hard way after his video was leaked on social media. The video should have never leaked on social media. The netizens were aghast at the duo teachers. Even, after such incidents people made fun of such facts. Jokes are on everyone’s lips. Although we jokingly admit that we can’t get enough of Instagram or Facebook, we sometimes don’t realise how much we need to look through our phones to fill the little hole inside us. According to a recent survey by the Royal Society for Public Health in the United Kingdom, social media has been described as more addictive than cigarettes and alcohol. Let us all have a peaceful coexistence on social media.
