Authorities in Srinagar have announced preventive restrictions across the city for Monday, citing the possibility of protests linked to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

A senior official stated that the measures are intended solely to preserve public order and avert any untoward incidents.
“As a precautionary measure, restrictions will remain in place across Srinagar on Monday. The situation is being closely monitored,” the official said.
According to security sources, the move follows a review of ground-level intelligence indicating the likelihood of gatherings. Officials added that the situation will be continuously assessed, and further actions will be taken as necessary based on evolving circumstances.
