Residents of Mandir Bagh in Gawkadal on Tuesday complained that their areas have been suffering because of poor drain drainage system.
Scores of people residing in the area criticized the authorities for not speeding up the process of ensuring a fully functional drainage system in the area even as the residents said that for the last 2 years, they are being made to run from pillar to post.
“There is continues waterlogging and the same remains to be an issue in winter as well as summers; there is no change on the ground with a change in weather,” said a resident who identified himself as Mohd Shafi.
They alleged that despite tall claims by the authorities, the poor drainage system has brought misery to the people in these areas and that the collapsed and exposed drains also pose a serious threat to the health of the people.
Locals said that the concerned departments keep on telling them that they are on it and the work will be started soon, but over two years have passed now, but there is no change on the ground as residents continue to face hardships.
The residents urged the concerned departments to address their issues and ensure the drainage repaired for the convenience of the residents.
