Police bind down 11 in crackdown on illegal use of VPN

Police warned that any violation of lawful orders will invite strict legal action and urges the public to cooperate with law-enforcement agencies to maintain peace

In a crackdown on the illegal use of VPN services, Ganderbal Police have taken preventive action against 11 individuals found violating the orders of the District Magistrate, Ganderbal, and bound them down under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), officials said.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that during verification, 11 Persons were found using VPN services illegally in the jurisdiction of PS Ganderbal and PS Kangan. Accordingly, istigasa under Sections 126/170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was produced before the concerned Executive Magistrates, and the individuals were bound down under Section 126 BNSS to maintain good behaviour.
