Dr Naved Nazir today interacted with prime minister Narendra Modi in a monthly radio address Mann ki Baat.
During the radio address, Modi asked Dr Naved Nazir about the Covid -19 pandemic in JK being tackled by government.
Dr Naved told PM since the second wave of Covid this year has assumed alarming proportions, ” But still there is no need to worry. We can stop Corona by strictly adhering to SOP’s announced by government. Lockdown will also be a deterrent to the Pandemic.

Replying to PM’s question about efficacy of indegenious vaccines manufactured to fight Covid infection, Dr Naved said, ” Last year we had nothing to fight against the pandemic but this year we have two vaccines made in country Covaxcin and Covishield. The vaccines has about 60% efficacy to save people from getting the infection. ”
Dr Naved told Narendra Modi that till now nearly 16 lac people from JK have been administered anti Covid vaccines.
