Following the recent snowfall, Pahalgam, the world-renowned tourist destination, experienced an increase of 30-40 percent in tourist flow, which is expected to continue.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pahalgam Development Authority, Tariq Hussain Naik said that while there was already a favourable influx of tourists during the winter season, the recent snowfall has further bolstered tourism activity in Pahalgam.
Naik said the tourist footfall has risen by approximately 30-40 percent and they expect continued growth in the near future. “Despite dry weather conditions in January, Pahalgam welcomed around 60,000 tourists. This number has seen a notable increase in the current month following the fresh snowfall,” he said.
The CEO PDA said efforts are underway to establish Pahalgam as a full-fledged winter destination. “Infrastructure is being upgraded to attract more and more tourists,” he added—(KNO)
