“Rather fail with honour than succeed by fraud”
– Sophocles
I was staying outside Dean’s office in the scorching heat along with my friend to fulfill some inescapable validations and scores for my examinations which were going to be held within three days. A couple reached the same campus with a baby on the stage of his father in the scintillating sun who were from Kashmir also which their facial texture was revealing. The woman had come for her examinations she visited Dean’s office for admit card but to her maximum dismay, it wasn’t lower than a stunner for her and her hubby that her admission wasn’t verified yet, because she had not done her admission herself, it was done by a fraudulent consultant who frequently makes students swindle and it’s really veritably easy for them because they’ve everything on the menu.
It’s also the very nature of students to become naive. The couple was spooked and were shocked poorly. They tried to call the advisor but he did not pick up their phone calls, also a Kashmiri consultant called him and that consultant started verbally abusing him on a phone call, I grasped that they were brawling with each other. But luckily the examinations of that woman were remitted and that consultant whose name was Zakir helped her to get admission to the same council.
Education consultants are the people who are employed either by sodalities or academies to get further registration and they’re paid by their separate sodalities and seminaries but unfortunately, now it has come to a cabal of fraudulent advisors and their drivers who always remain on their toes to lollygag and mislead students by faking their dreams to study abroad or in other States as well. They’re taking a hefty amount from students by overcharging them.
How to tackle this situation now
Experts suggest that Overdependence on counselors should be avoided and campaigners should take way to complete all the formalities on their own. Don’t be a susceptible pupil, before concluding to take admission in any council or university collect all the necessary information needed, the world now has become a Global village via the internet. Kashmiris are each around the world seeking help from the internet, social media handles by acquiring precious information and reviews from their social media friends. Always Google first to check the conditions and ratings of that college or university also check the list of universities and colleges handed by the university or council whom you’re alumni. Link yourself to some pupil who has attended that council or university.
Noway ever try to pursue post-graduation in any college, pursue P.G program from an honored university as in colleges there aren’t largely good proffesors with high-quality tutoring skills. Do not get misled by consultants.
It’s bare a network of brokers like a cabal or chatter who didn’t leave a stone unturned to trick you. Advisers aren’t frequently deceiving students but they also are dealing with bogus instruments. According to some checks, degrees are made in the names of several universities in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand, as well as in the Telugu countries. Students Association of Jammu and Kashmir should play a pivotal part in relating similar sodalities and advisers to amend this imminence of consultancy cabal. They should categorize these sodalities and universities by keeping them in black and slate lists and partake the information via Advisories on their social media handles so that students wouldn’t get trapped in this menace of consultancy. Some students are having mental health issues and got trapped and deceived by Consultancy Mafia.
There shall be counseling sessions during Undergraduate Programmes, where Proffesors and teachers should guide the students who want to study further. There should be a committee or council by Government who should look after these consultancy affairs and these consultancy agencies should be fined who betray students and compensation should be given to students who are affected by consultancy frauds. It’s the era of Unconscionability keep both your eyes and ears open. Do not be a gullible student. Use your smartphones smartly, otherwise kick them out.
May Almighty Allah lead us to the pertinacious path. I’m concluding with the couplets of renowned Poet Dr. Allama Iqbal (R.A)
اپنے بھی خفا مجھ سے ہیں, بیگانے بھی نا خوش
میں زہر ہلاہل کو کبھی کہ نہ سکا قند
