His resignation comes after two days of violent unrest, with protesters demanding his ouster over alleged corruption and heavy-handed governance.

Protests in Nepal escalated sharply on Tuesday as demonstrators from the Gen Z–led movement stormed parliament and forced their way into Singha Durbar, the country’s central government complex that houses the prime minister’s office and several key ministries.

The breach, which came after days of violent demonstrations over corruption and a recently revoked social media ban, underscores the growing political crisis confronting Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli’s administration.
