Suspected militants snatch rifle from cop in Kulgam

Suspected militants on Sunday overpowered a cop and snatched his service rifle from Shamshipora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Official sources told Good Morning Kashmir that policeman identified as Mudasir Ahmad was overpowered by militants, who snatched his AK -47 rifle near Shamshipora area of Khudwani in Kulgam.

A police officer confirmed the incident saying it is a “serious concern”.

Weapon snatching cases are common in south Kashmir districts of Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag in the last three years.
